Fair Isle sweater swatch made into a cap

I finished my swatch......and my son loves it!!
There are some long floats in the beginning but they are holding their shape.
A big 'Thank You!' to the yahoo group that helped me get past some concerns. I am now ready to write the sweater pattern so I can begin my son's sweater.

  1. Very, very nice cap. You did a wonderful job! A matching sweater will be perfect, and how happy your son will be to have these beautiful gifts of love.

  3. Hey Miss Scarlett and Vee, thank you for your wonderful comments!
My son does truly appreciate the things I make him.
I didn't even think I was writing a pattern since it was for my son ~ but I guess I am!
It will be an experience as I venture on writing up the sweater.

  4. What a wonderful idea for a swatch. It is beautiful. That is such creative thinking on your part. Great job! I have been wanting to learn Faire Isle. I started going to a knitting group in Seattle that has a Nordic theme. It has been so inspiring.
