She absolutely LOVED this yarn and wanted to make me a pair of socks. They are so nice.....not only to wear but each time I put them on, I think of my mom.
I think it is a worsted Fortissima washable wool. She knit a 1x1 rib with sockinette foot.
I love my socks......and I love my mom.
Those are great socks, I'll bet you could wear them every day and they would match whatever else you had on!
ReplyDeleteI envy you your mother. Mine died almost 20 years ago, and I still miss her every day. Give your mom an extra hug from me the next time you see her.
I am so sorry for your loss. Moms are very important. I learned a most valuable lesson from her: She used to say "Don't waste your breath saying unkind words to or about someone."
ReplyDeleteThose are great socks! What a nice mom you have.
ReplyDeleteWhat a precious and special gift! My mom never knits anymore. When I was a kid, she started every once in a while a knitting project and I was the one who finished it, LOL!
ReplyDeleteSocks from mom are the best! :)
ReplyDeleteMy mom crocheted all the time, so I have a lot of those things to remember her by--she would have been 85 years old yesterday, but has been gone since 1984.
ReplyDeleteOn a happier note, here is a picture of my socks from that yarn--I think these were actually the second socks I ever made! http://www.flickr.com/photos/sunasak/182958146/in/set-72157594187688851/
Good news is that at home I have more of that yarn, because I was going to knit it up again for someone else, in a less pitiful looking pattern. I will see what it is, exactly!
Having fun catching up on this blog...
